Songwriter: WEBB, JIMMY

How delicate the tracery of her fine lines
Like the moonlight lacetops of the evening pines
Like a song half heard through a closed door
Like an old book when you cannot read the writing anymore

How innocent her visage as my child lover lies
Pressed against the rainswept windy windows of my eyes
Like an antique etching glass design
That somehow turned out wrong
I keep looking through old varnish
At my late lover's body
Caught on ancient canvas
And decaying...disappearing
Even as I sing this song

How secretly and silently my sorrow disappears
You can't see it with your eyes or hear it with your ears
It's like a Watermark that's never there and never really gone
I keep looking through old varnish
At my late lover's body
Caught on ancient canvas
And decaying...disappearing
Even as I sing this song
Even as I sing this song
Even as I sing this song

Bursts of Song Springing Live from The Annex Toronto Saturday ..AND In Orbit on Friday

Signs of spring! New songs are bursting out from two concurrent shows early this Saturday evening, within blocks of each other. At the Central, 603 Markham St. under the shoulder of Honest Ed, a 6:30 show starring Din, Diem Lafortune, Normal For Once and Carl Lorusso Jr. will melodically unfurl.

A few blocks east of there, at the Tranzac, 292 Brunswick, magnetic songstress Abigail Lapell presents Early Birds, the sophomore event in a songwriters showcase series that will continue on the first Saturday of each month. After March's epic evening with Ambre McLean and Tara Holloway, Abigail is following up with a presentation of the talents of Jessica Moore and Dana Sipos. Showtime is 7:30.

New disks will be available at both gigs and admission is by donation.

Abi and Jessica can also be found on Corby's Orbit online at Radio Regent playing live, at 6:00 tomorrow, Friday.
