Saska-tutely

Glowingly original song-writing and a Tweedy-dry vocal style have brought Keiffer McLean of Saskatchewan a well-deserved nomination for last year's Canadian Folk Music Awards, and now a chance to charm Toronto audiences in the musical tsunami of Canadian Music Week. He appears at The Gladstone Hotel at 9:00 tonight and on Corby's Orbit today at 5:15. A must-hear.

Toronto’s Cameron House will serve as a home-base for a series of dates in May for Jen Lane, another  escapee from a long solitary Saskatoon winter, where she has been writing about empowerment, renewal and love's constant rescue.

Long-time musical and life partner, John Antoniuk (Smokekiller), is also providing musical accompaniment and alternating sets every Wednesday from 6-8:00 p.m.

The CBC’s Sheila Coles once commented “Jen has hit a depth in her song-writing that people twice her age struggle to find.”

Both will be sharing some music and stories live on the show today at 6:00.
