Canadian Talent Gets A Shine At The IMAs Independent Music Party @ Lincoln Center NYC

Three Canadian friends of Radio Regent's Corby's Orbit show rocked the Independent Music Awards in NYC on the last night of March: I can't find a comprehensive list yet, but Helen Austin and Paul Otten of Big Little Lions won Best Song / Americana for the song Against the Wall, off their recent release, Alive & WellJeremy Ledbetter won Best Producer / World Music for his wife, Eliana Cuevas' disk
Golpes y Flores (beating out Canada's excellent Ozan Boz for Minor Empire's Uprooted album), and Lenka Lichtenberg won Best New Age Song for Dobru nocma mila from the album Masaryk: Národní písně, released by ARC Music. Big appreciation and congratulations to all for the creation of that great music, and to the IMA's for recognizing these highly accomplished works of songcraft.
Another Canadian artist who won an IMA this year, was Quinn Bachand, who won Jazz Song with Vocals for his original song Cheyene (Quit Your Talkin’), off his latest album with Brishen, Blue Verdun.
