At the hub of musical groundswells there are usually certain personalities who galvanize enthusiasm and bolster the party to a consistent buzz.
Melanie Brulée has provided a deliriant euphoria to many of Ontario's alt country scenarios for a long time, while also reviving the francophonie aspect of her muse with the release of her French album Débridée in 2015.
Melanie’s third full-length album Fires, Floods & Things We Leave Behind explores themes of family, loss and addiction and will be released this month. She will be harmonically coinciding with the Orbit at 5:30.
Surfing the upswing in fine jazz composition that Toronto is currently enjoying, Marie Goudy and longtime amiga Jocelyn Barth will be intersecting with the Orbit at 6:00 to share thoughts and original music from The Bitter Suite, a recent epic release by the Marie Goudy 12tet. They will be engulfing The Rex Hotel with a live release performance this Wednesday 17 October at 9:30 featuring the ensemble's powerful finesse and overwhelming beauty.
