Last fall's echo-y Roots Canadiana classic, Love & Highways, by String Bone (AKA Barry James Payne), has been creeping into the Orbital flight pattern lately, by the grace of an anthem-level tune called Where Do You Go.
Calling for alliances of flesh and philosophy throughout the album, ("Let's go out and change the world / feel the power of your love"), this singular song stands out as a stark and lonesome summons to kindred spirits lost in the frosty circumstances of larger political developments. Feeling that?
Barry and long-time Orbital orchid Ginger St. James, who co-wrote the song, will be on-board at 6:00 for a live reprise and for some chat about forward action in the world of music, and other military / industrial complexities.
Early in the show, we will also be treated to an audio glimpse of omni-talented local light (Soul Motivators, O`Pears) Lydia Persaud. She will be showing off her fascinating singer-songwriter facet live, as she prepares for a show, Songs Of Heartache And Love, coming to Burdock this Saturday alongside Jabbour of Lachute, Québec.
Also: I`ll be playing new music from Joel Plaskett, and some Tom Russell and of course, unzipping a few Valentine sentiments.
Be radically attuned to Radio Regent Fridays from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
