On July 10th, in a cul de sac on Hertle Avenue in Toronto, with a gathering of friends and neighbours, Toronto singer / poet Robert Priest chose a glorious day to be born seventy years ago. A video (above) with unfortunately wretched sound recording and some photos remains as a souvenir of the liveliness and loveliness of a day of community love. In attendance were songwriters Lynn Harrison and Steve Paul Simms, as well as Jillian Harris, vocalist for The O'Pears and Dwayne Gretzky.

Robert spent the intermission reading a half dozen of his poems, including the intense Ali Wouldn't Fight, and a fantasy meeting between Will Shakespeare and Chris Marlowe.
